How we work

Learning English as engineers, together

The program pairs language practice with the kind of communication engineers actually need: technical reports, design presentations, meeting discussions and professional correspondence. Each group works through the same activities and then shares its results here.

Academic writing

Report structure, referencing, summarising technical material and editing our own drafts.

Speaking & presenting

Delivering technical talks with clear pronunciation, pacing and confident body language.

Discussion & debate

Group discussions, interviews and role plays that build fluency under pressure.

Reading & research

Working through journals, standards and articles to gather evidence for our work.

Guided by our teachers

Reviewed by the teachers' panel of English

Every assignment and presentation published here has been guided and evaluated by the lecturers and instructors of the English language program. The web committee maintains the archive so nothing gets lost between semesters.

In our own words

Voices from the groups

Presenting in English used to be the hardest part of the semester. Recording and rewatching our talks changed that completely.
Group 2Presentation team
Having every assignment in one place means we can see how other groups structured their reports before we start ours.
Group 4Writing team
The feedback from the teachers' panel is much easier to act on when all our drafts live side by side.
